The SLIIT and the Curtin University of Technology. Perth, Western Australia, have signed an agreement for the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) of the Curtin University to students of the SLIIT. Under the provisions of this agreement, the first two years of study at SLIIT will be considered equivalent to the first two years of Curtin Degree Programme, which enables a student to directly enter the third year, which is the final year of the Curtin Degree Programme.
The students who wish to follow the Curtin University Degree Programme can either follow the third year at SLIIT in Sri Lanka or proceed to Curtin for the third year. The students following the third year at SLIIT will be required to pay an additional fee as required by Curtin. This will be in addition to the fee payable to SLIIT for the third year. Students who wish to proceed to Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia will have to pay the full fees as prescribed by Curtin University. In either of these cases students are required to meet Curtin's literacy standard, which is essentially a credit pass in English at the G. C. E. (Ordinary Level) Examination. Both these pathways lead to the same degree of the Curtin University of Technology.
